Jackson Board extends solar moratorium to complete new ordinance

NY JACKSON — Jackson Town Board schedules August hearing on extending solar moratorium. Supervisor Jay Skellie and the board voted unanimously, 4-0, to schedule the hearing, according to Planning Board Chairwoman Donahue, who reported that the board has completed a comprehensive new 30-page solar ordinance addressing significant gaps in the existing Jackson Solar One law. The new ordinance includes enhanced financial liability provisions, strengthened performance standards, mandatory water testing for neighboring properties, and more rigorous oversight.
The board also unanimously approved switching the town phone system to PanTerra, expected to save approximately $130 monthly.
